Environmentally friendly traditional harvesting methods ensure a superior aromatic rice, that is good for you and better for the planet. It has won a Great Taste award and is the most ethical rice on the market according to Ethical Consumer magazine.
Ideal for most dishes, try Kilombero white rice in salads, rice puddings, and creamy risottos.
Kilombero long grain white rice is incredibly versatile, absorbing flavours, spices, and aromas when used in all kinds of dishes. Harvested in Malawi by smallholder farmers who are part of NASFAM (National Smallholder Farmers' Association of Malawi) a democratically governed organisation owned by its members — 60% of which are women. Every bag sold changes lives, and the farmers’ earnings from Kilombero rice are invested back into their farms, providing better food security and the means to support and pay for their children’s education.

Store in a cool, dark and dry area. After opening, keep in a sealed container.

Cooking instructions: For best results use the traditional Malawian method:
1. For 2 people use 200g rice and 300ml water. Measure water into a medium saucepan and bring to the boil. Add salt.
2. Measure rice and rinse. Tip into boiling water, stir once and cover. Simmer 4 to 5 minutes, then turn off heat and allow rice to gradually absorb water for 15 minutes until tender. Do not stir during cooking.
3. Check that the rice is tender and water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork before serving.
