The fair trade supplier of these baubles has worked with local artisans for decades. By guaranteeing a regular income, families can be supported who otherwise were living off subsistence farming in the hills. Originally founded in 1974, by 2007 the supplier had saved enough to fund the building of a hospital in Sri Nagar. This opened in 2010 and offers medical treatment to those who cannot otherwise afford it.
