Q: Do all retail prices shown include VAT?

A: All prices detailed on the Shop are inclusive of VAT, where VAT is applicable.

Q: What methods of payment do you accept?

A: The Ethical Shop accepts credit and debit cards from Visa and Mastercard, and PayPal. If you would like to post your order to us please complete a paper catalogue order form (a free catalogue can be ordered from the web shop - search for catalogue). Send this with a cheque to: Ethical Shop, PO Box 5004, Alton, Hants, GU34 9DB. Please note that we can only accept sterling cheques drawn on a UK bank account.

Q: I ordered and paid for an item which has not arrived with the rest of my order. What do I do?

A: If for any reason the Warehouse Team discover that an item you ordered and paid for is no longer available on the shelves, the Customer Care Team will contact you to tell you when the new stock is arriving, update you on a stock delays and/or arrange a refund. If you have not heard anything, please call the Team on +44 (0)1420 525544 for further assistance.

Q: Why hasn’t my order arrived?

A: Please email help@ethicalshop.org or call us on +44 (0)1420 525544 so that we can look into this for you.

Q: Do you do gift vouchers?

A:  We currently offer e-gift vouchers through the Ethical Shop. You will need to choose the amount you wish to give; the name and email address of the recipient; and the date you would like the voucher to arrive. The recipient’s gift voucher will include simple instructions on how it can be redeemed on the Ethical Shop.

Q: Do I have to place my order online?

A: No, you can also place an order over the phone by calling +44 (0)1420 525544 (between 9am and 5pm Mon-Fri, and 9am and 4pm Sat (Nov-Dec)) or via our mail-order catalogue (which can be ordered free of charge via the Shop).

Q: Is my order secure?

A: All of your transactions on the Ethical Shop are secure. Our secure server encrypts all of your personal information (including name, address, credit card number) so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the internet. When you enter this information it is captured on a page that uses the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol by default. So rest assured, your order is safe with us.

Q: Do you do overseas orders?

A: We accept orders for overseas delivery (please note that New Internationalist Publications Ltd has a local shop in Canada). Your credit card will be charged in sterling and therefore the amount you see on your credit card statement (in your own currency) will be dependent on the exchange rate used by your bank on the day the charge is processed. We cannot deliver to post box (PO Box) addresses - please make sure you include a full street address for delivery. Overseas orders are generally sent by air and you need to allow 28 days for delivery.
