Suitable for age 8+, the kit can be put together in an hour or two, and aspiring scientists will learn all about levers, gears and simple machines as they go along. With the push of a syringe, the gearbot then springs into action, launching small items (whatever you dare - the manufacturer suggests popcorn or marshmallows; parents may have a view on this!) to see how far they will go. Glue and all parts, though not the projectiles, are included. Made of sturdy die-cut plywood with an MDF base.
